Who we are

TBARCH is a Perth-based building design and approvals studio. We handle information supplied by clients, prospective clients, consultants, suppliers, job applicants and website visitors to communicate and deliver our work.

We aim to handle personal information responsibly and comply with privacy requirements that apply to our activities. This policy describes our usual practices; it does not require you to consent to every possible use simply by visiting the website.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

• your name, contact details, role and correspondence;
• property addresses, site details, project briefs, photographs, drawings and consultant reports;
• records of meetings, approvals and documents needed for a project;
• billing or payment-related records needed for our business; and
• website usage information such as device, browser, approximate location and IP address.

For a job or subcontracting enquiry, we may also receive a résumé, work history, qualifications and references. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information unless it is relevant and we have requested it.

How we collect information

We receive information directly from you by email, phone, meeting or website form. We may also receive relevant project information from people you authorise to work with us, including builders, surveyors, engineers, planners and building surveyors, or from publicly available property and planning records.

If required information is not provided, we may be unable to assess an enquiry or deliver an agreed service.

Why we use information

We use information to respond to enquiries; understand a site and brief; prepare design and approval documents; coordinate consultants and authorities; administer engagements, invoices and records; maintain our website; and meet applicable legal obligations.

We may use project information for internal review and quality purposes. We will seek appropriate permission before using identifiable client information or private project material in public marketing or a portfolio.

Who may receive information

Where relevant to your enquiry or project, we may share necessary information with surveyors, engineers, planners, energy assessors, building surveyors, specialist consultants, authorities and your nominated builder or representative.

We also use providers for website hosting, email, software, file storage and business administration, and may share relevant records with professional advisers where necessary. We do not sell personal information.

Services outside Australia

Some digital service providers may store or process information outside Australia. The location can depend on the provider and its systems. Contact us if you would like more detail about the providers used for information relevant to you.

Where applicable privacy law requires steps before an overseas disclosure, we will take those steps. We do not assume that every overseas provider is subject to Australian privacy law.

Access, corrections and concerns

You can ask what personal information we hold about you or request a correction if you believe it is inaccurate. You can also contact us with a privacy question or complaint. We will review your request and respond within a reasonable time. If the Privacy Act applies to the relevant activity and you are dissatisfied with our response, you may be able to complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
